About Me
Hello! I am a print and audio journalist raised in Savannah, Georgia. I’m a senior at the University of Georgia, where I’ll be graduating summa cum laude in May 2023 with degrees in journalism and international affairs along with a French minor. During my college career, I’ve served as the editor-in-chief of The Red & Black and as NPR’s business news intern, where I honed my radio reporting skills. This fall, I’ll be returning to Athens as a funded graduate assistant in the journalism department, after which I am pursuing a career in print and audio journalism with the goal of reporting internationally. In my spare time, I love to read and go on walks, either solo or with friends.

For too long, the journalism industry has left out the perspectives and voices of groups that have been othered by society as both reporters and sources. Through my social justice journalism course in spring 2023 and my work in the disability beat guide for Covering Poverty, I’ve been reminded of the importance of centering underrepresented voices in my storytelling. In my work, I aim to center those voices while addressing historic context and modern systems that continue to other people, while keeping in mind my own position in society and biases.
